UW, Wyoming SBDC Network to Host Small Business Saturday Training

Small Business Saturday is right around the corner and, for small-business owners, it can be a make-or-break sales day that sets the tone for the holiday shopping season.

Michelle Talbert will discuss how small-business owners can build anticipation and a pipeline of potential customers for the holidays during a Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network online training workshop titled “Before, During and After: Leveraging Small Business Saturday to Create Raving REPEAT Customers” Thursday, Nov. 10, from 11 a.m.-noon. The presentation will be hosted by the SBDC’s Wyoming Community Navigator Program. To register, go here. Registration is free.

Talbert is a relationship marketing strategist and co-working space founder. In January 2020, she opened Her Power Space, a woman-forward, men-welcoming boutique co-working space near Fort Lauderdale, Fla. In August 2022, she celebrated the grand opening of her second location, Her Power Space Too.

In response to the pandemic’s impact on the small-business community, Talbert created the “No Small Business Left Behind” series that, to date, has highlighted 200 small businesses. Talbert also hosts virtual and in-person groups, including the Her Power Moves Book Club, The UnChamber monthly workshops and the nonprofit Her Happiness Collective, where women entrepreneurs gather to “lay down their capes.” Talbert has been featured in Forbes, The Washington Post and other major publications. Her motto is “We all win.”

Talbert graduated from Cornell University and received her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania, with a business certificate from the Wharton School of Business. In June 2021, she completed the Cornell Women’s Entrepreneurship Certificate.
