UW and Wyoming SBDC Network Host Payment Collections Webinar March 16

With more ways to pay than ever before, it’s vital that small businesses provide flexible and safe options for collecting payments.

Bridget Manley and Daniel Patterson will present a Wyoming Community Navigator Program (CNP) webinar titled “Collecting Payments In-Person and Online” Thursday, March 16, from 11 a.m.-noon. To register, go here. Registration is free. The Wyoming CNP, through the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network at the University of Wyoming, provides small-business resources and assistance for traditionally underserved entrepreneurs throughout Wyoming.

During this interactive webinar, small-business owners will discover the wide range of payment processing options -- including Square, Venmo and traditional banking -- that they can use to grow their businesses. Small-business owners also will learn when it’s more advantageous to use each payment processing option and identify the ideal option for their unique business models.

Manley is an e-learning specialist with a passion for helping learners become effective agents in their careers and in their communities. She co-founded Ascendant Design and Training with Patterson, her husband, in July 2020. Before that, she was the curriculum manager for a Denver-based startup company, where she developed compliance and manufacturing training for the state-legal cannabis industry.

Patterson is a software systems developer with over 30 years of multidisciplinary experience in software, electronic and mechanical design. He has been involved in several different industries, including logistics, gaming, music and heavy equipment. In those industries, Patterson has managed projects large and small; has overseen research, development, engineering and IT departments; and has managed the implementation and upkeep of automated production systems.

The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by UW with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
