UW in the News


February 7, 2011 — State, national and international media frequently feature the University of Wyoming and members of its community in stories. Here is a summary of some of the recent articles where UW is making the news.

The London Telegraph quotes UW student Jill Kristensen in a review that examines the popularity of author Jane Austen. Kristensen previously was featured in a UW press release about this subject.

A story about UW studies of the effects of global warming, originally published in the Los Angeles times, continues to be picked up by science and news websites worldwide, including gather.com.

In its popular "Cheers and Jeers" section, the Casper Star Tribune recognized the UW Nordic ski team for its participation in the World University Games.

The regional news website, New West, quoted Kentz Willis, a nutrition and food safety expert from the University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension in Sheridan, in an article about food in rural desert areas.
