April 11, 2011 — State, national and international media frequently feature the University of Wyoming and members of its community in stories. Here is a summary of some of the recent articles where UW is making the news.

UW Economics Professor Timothy Considine is quoted in a Time magazine feature article that asks if shale gas could power the world; click the page numbers at the bottom to get to page 3.

The New York Times quoted UW researcher  Michael Urynowicz in an Associated Press article on the use of microbes to convert Wyoming coal into gas.

The Chicago Tribune cites a UW cookbook in an article about eating well for less.

USA Today published an article about the finalists, including a team from UW, scheduled to compete at the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition.

Wyofile, the in-depth Wyoming news site, quoted UW Economics Professor Jay Shogren in an article about International efforts to address climate change.

OnEarth quotes UW Economics Professor Tim Considine in an article about the Department of Interior's announcement  to lease vast tracts of the Powder River Basin for coal mining.
