January 30, 2012 — State, national and international media frequently feature the University of Wyoming and members of its community in stories. Here is a summary of some of the recent articles where UW is making the news.

Legendary comic book creator Stan Lee mentions his UW American Heritage Center collection in a Wall Street Journal interview. Lee's collection at UW also is mentioned in a Salt Lake Tribune article.

WIA Report (Women in Academia) used UW's release about Kate Muir Welsh being named the new director of UW's Social Justice Research Center. WIA also carried UW's release about the UW Board of Trustees approving new regulations concerning sexual misconduct on campus.

The Casper Star-Tribune published UW's news releases about the UW Chamber Orchestra's recent concert and the opening reception at the UW Art Musuem.

UW's weather balloon website was cited as a source in Lego Man's launch into space.

A.D. Myers, UW Department of Physics and Astronomy assistant professor, is among a team of astronomers that has found the strongest link between the most powerful bursts of star formation in the early universe and the most massive galaxies found today, according to Space Daily. The team's findings will soon be published in the Journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

Information industry news website INFOdocket picked up UW's media release about the continued growth of the UW Libraries collections.

KOWB Radio reported UW's news releases on the famed Second City Improv Company's Feb. 1 performance at UW.
