Salt Lake City's Deseret News carried an Associated Press feature on work being done by Scott Shaw, a UW Department of Ecosystem Science and Management professor who has identified new insect species.
UW Institutional Communications Director Chad Baldwin was quoted in a Billings Gazette story about Northwest College exploring the possibility of offering health insurance benefits to same-sex partners of school employees. The paper, as did Textile World, also reported on spider silk research being conducted at UW.
An article on the success of community college students who transfer to UW, including New England Cable News (NECN), a regional 24-hour cable news television network. A summary of the article was featured in US News University, a new educational website offered by US News and World Report.
BizWire Express was among sites announcing the selection of a design team for UW's planned Gateway Plaza. The story also was picked up by PR.com.
