February 18, 2013 — State, national and international media frequently feature the University of Wyoming and members of its community in stories. Here is a summary of some of the recent articles where UW is making the news.
The Casper Star-Tribune quoted UW Religious Studies Professor Paul Flesher in an article about the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI.
UW’s media release on the Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center’s LEED Gold certification for its environmentally and user-conscious building features was picked up by such online publications as Renewable Choice Energy and Jetson Green.
USA Education News posted UW’s release about UW Professor Ye Zhang’s development of computer models designed to enhance and optimize carbon sequestration.
UW’s Bryan Shuman, a geology and geophysics associate professor, will discuss his research work on climate change in Wyoming this week at a conference in Jackson, according to The Casper Star-Tribune.
Cheyenne news station KGAB and Phys.Org, the web-based science, research and technology news service, carried UW’s release about the importance of clouds in climate and weather forecasting in research conducted by UW atmospheric scientist Zhien Wang.
Phys.Org also published research led by UW doctoral student Abdullahi Hussein Ali, in which GPS collars were placed on a rare African antelope species.
