A recent study, led by UW Professor David “Tex” Taylor, found that hunters, anglers and wildlife viewers spent almost $800 million in Wyoming in 2016, The Laramie Boomerang reported. Their activity accounted for more than 9,600 jobs and $262 million in labor income, adding up to more than $1 billion in economic activity across the state. The Seattle Times also carried the story.

Aimee Lewis, a UW School of Pharmacy researcher and a co-chair of the Wyoming Rx Abuse Stakeholders (RAS), told The Wyoming Tribune Eagle that the decline in opioid abuse could be attributed to work the RAS has done throughout the state.

UW’s release announcing that the Ellbogen Center for Teaching and Learning has launched new initiatives and funding opportunities focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning was published on KGWN TV’s website.

Sheridan Media posted, on its website, UW’s release announcing that Japanese professor and writer Toshihiro Nakayama discussed “How Japan is Adapting to Trump’s America on the World Stage” on campus last week. Wyoming Public Radio interviewed Nakayama about his talk.
