American Heritage Center

The American Heritage Center holds manuscripts and special collections, rare books, and the university archives. Though internationally known—last year researchers represented 48 states and 12 nations (including Japan, England, Indonesia, and Poland )—the AHC first and foremost supports the teaching and research mission of UW, and in particular welcomes undergraduates. The AHC also sponsors a wide range of scholarly and popular programs including lectures, symposia, and exhibits.

UW Art Museum

Interior shot of art museumThe University of Wyoming Art Museum was established in 1972 to collect, preserve, exhibit, and interpret the breadth of the visual arts and cultural artifacts throughout time. Located on the UW-Laramie campus in the dramatic Centennial Complex, a signature building designed by internationally acclaimed architect Antoine Predock, the museum is a premier Rocky Mountain visual arts destination that contributes to the cultural life of Wyoming through dynamic exhibition, education, and outreach programs and a distinguished collection of more than 7,000 objects. The museum is a major resource for a broad range of academic programs, both at the university and K–12 levels, and communities throughout Wyoming and the region.
