GROWTH HABIT: Annual, 6 to 18 inches tall.
LEAVES: basal leaves lanceolate, simple, entire to lobed, inflorecence a raceme.
FLOWER: Small white 4-petal flowers are formed in early summer at the ends of branches.
SEEDS: Two seeds are contained in each chamber of mature pod, surrounded by a fan-like structure.
OTHER: A very troublesome weed in grain fields. A strong odor is associated with this plant causing dairy animals eating it to produce a bitter-flavored milk.
