CONFERENCE GRANT TO SUPPORT THE 4TH GRAZING LIVESTOCK NUTRITION CONFERENCE
(WYO-00612)
This research conference grant application is to support the 4th Grazing Livestock Nutrition Conference to be held July 9-10, 2010 at the Estes Park Conference Center, Estes Park, CO. The conference is intended to translate research-based management strategies to stakeholders for improving ruminant use in sustainable forage production systems. A major interactive goal is to bring together scientists and resource managers, established senior and junior investigators, from the fields of rangeland ecology and management, rumen microbiology, basic and applied livestock nutrition, and agricultural economics, and from around the world to report and discuss their findings in an atmosphere conducive to frank yet amicable exchange. The conference will consist of 6 plenary sessions with 1 to 3 presentations in each session, a 1.5-hour poster session in which trainees will present their research, and a Keynote lecture by a highly respected international speaker. Invited speakers will publish their presentations as peer-reviewed manuscripts. Overall, the 4th Grazing Livestock Nutrition Conference will provide much needed updates on our understanding of forage-based livestock nutrition.
