Volunteer Opportunities

AmeriCorps Opportunities

AmeriCorps is a program that connects the UW campus with the community, providing professional training opportunities, career skills and networks, a modest living stipend, and a $1250 education scholarship. AmeriCorps positions are available through the Center for Volunteer Service.

Volunteer Events

The CVS works with numerous volunteer agencies on campus and in the community to plan events throughout the semester! Also check out one of our Volunteers In Action Days throughout the semester!

Alternative Spring Break

Alternative Spring Break involves students in community-based service projects across the country that address a wide variety of social needs. Students spend their break working on issues as diverse as literacy, poverty, natural disaster relief, homelessness, and preserving the environment. Past service sites include Washington D.C., Moab, UT, and Biloxi, MI.

Student Volunteer Leadership Team

A recognized student organization, the Student Volunteer Leadership Team (SVLT) aids the UW campus and community of Laramie by providing volunteer service opportunities. This group works not only for its members, but for all students. Anyone looking for great leadership experience and being in control of many volunteer events are especially encouraged to attend. SVLT holds weekly meetings on Tuesday at 12:15 in the CVS office.
