Student Volunteer Leadership Team

Meets Tuesdays at 12:20 in Union Room 006 (Lower Level of the union) Free and open to any UW student, the Student Volunteer Leadership Team helps promote community volunteerism to everyone in the UW community.

Mission: Student Leadership Volunteer Team's mission is to aid the university and the community in providing volunteer opportunities for not only its members but for all students.

We hope you have a great summer and thanks for all those who volunteered this past year. We hope to see everybody in the fall. We will have meetings at the same time in the center for volunteering.

 

 

 

Past events:

Alternative Spring Break — March 2006 and 2007

In 2006, fifty students traveled to Waveland Mississippi for a week and dedicated their time to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. In 2007, four teams of student volunteers traveled across the nation to address issues in many areas including environmental conservation, homelessness, cultural diversity and hurricane relief.

Kans of Kindness Food Drive
— Oct-Nov 2006 and Oct-Nov 2007

“Can-structures” were created by RSO’s that had collected cans. The structures were built and displayed in designated areas in the Union. Cans that were collected were donated to the Laramie Soup Kitchen.
