Exchange programs serve to enrich international understanding by bringing students from abroad to live and study at the University of Wyoming campus and by sending UW students to study at institutions in these countries.  UW students can enroll in semester and year abroad programs through exchange agreements with over 30 partner institutions or through ISEP (an Exchange provider).  Students who study overseas in an exchange program pay tuition and fees to UW.

Exchange Options

Program providers can be organizations, institutes or other universities that facilitate study abroad programs.  These organizations are professionals in administering programs, providing onsite student support services and act as intermediaries for students, providing assistance with course registration and housing arrangements.  The cost paid to providers generally includes tuition, fees, housing, insurance, on-site support and some excursions.

Provider Options

Direct Enrollment

UW students enroll directly in a foreign university with the assistance of the Education Abroad Office.  Like exchange programs, direct enroll programs attempt to integrate students into the host institution and students can take courses as if they are enrolled in a degree program.  In Direct Enrollment programs, students pay the tuition and fees of the host university abroad.

Faculty-Led Course

J-term, Spring Break and Summer programs offer credit-bearing, intensive and unique learning opportunities for students that are not available using customary class schedules.  These short-term programs provide students with the opportunity to gain an international experience while being taught by University of Wyoming faculty members and earning UW credit.

Faculty-Led Course Options

Internships provide students with essential career experience in an international setting.  Opportunities are available for nearly every field.  These can be full or part-time experiences overseas which are unpaid, pre-professional opportunities that allow students to develop workplace skills, learn about a career, and help build their professional networks.
