Exchange programs service to enrich international understanding by bringing students from abroad to live and study at the University of Wyoming campus and by sending UW students to study at institutions in these countries.  UW students can enroll in semester and year abroad programs through exchange agreements with over 40 partner institutions.

Program providers can be organizations, institutes or other universities that facilitate study abroad programs.  These organizations are professionals in administering programs, providing onsite student support services and acting as intermediaries for students, providing assistance with course registration and housing arrangements.

Direct Enrollment

UW students enroll directly in a foreign university with the assistance of the Education Abroad Office.  Like exchange programs, direct enroll programs attempt to integrate students into the host institution and students can take courses as if they are enrolled in a degree program.

Faculty-Led Course

J-term, Spring Break, Maymester and Summer programs offer credit-bearing, intensive and unique learning opportunities for our students which are not available using customary class schedules.  These short-term programs provide students with the opportunity to gain an international experience while being taught by University of Wyoming faculty members and earning UW credit towards general education requirement and majors/minors.

Internship programs provide students with essential career experience in an international setting.  Opportunities are available for every field.  These can be full or part-time experiences overseas which are unpaid, pre-professional opportunities that allow students to develop workplace skills, learn about a career, and help build their professional networks.
