PATB 4110 - Diseases of Food Animals

This upper division class is taught by Drs. O'Toole, Montgomery and Fox. The goal is to introduce students to basic concepts of animal disease and control. Its emphasis is on beef cattle and small ruminants. Diseases of swine and poultry are also covered, albeit in less detail. Drs. O'Toole, Montgomery and Fox are board-certified pathologists and veterinarians. Classes are in PPT format, with weekly quizes and four exams during the semester. It can also be taken as a graduate level class, with additional requirements. Diseases of horses used to be covered in this class. For students specifically interested in horses, this is now covered in another course (taught spring each year), Health and Diseases of Horses (PATB/ANSC 4111). This is co-taught by Drs. McLean and O'Toole.
