Contact information may be entered once on the homepage and be distributed to all pages on your website. However, individual pages that aren't indexed or pages' folders that aren't indexed won't show the contact information. Sub folders may be set up with their own navigation structures in folders that are checked to exclude parent navigation.
Having contact information on your website is important. Having contact information in an easy to find place is even more important. Contact information is important to have displayed on your website for both your department and the rest of the UW community. By having easy to find contact information, you are providing users the opportunity to contact you.
With the new design templates, specifically the College / Department Advanced page, the visibility of the contact us section is gone, however you will still need to populate it in the Contact Info section of the page if it is used as your homepage so subsequent pages can pick it up. In addition, it is important for each unit using the Advanced template, to include your contact us information at the bottom of each page that uses the College / Department Advanced template in order to enhance user experience on your website. To add contact us on 'Advanced' templates, follow the instructions below in addition to adding contact information to the Contact Info section described above:
