Add Contact Information

Formatting Contact Information on the Homepage for Display Throughout the Website

Contact information may be entered once on the homepage and be filtered to all pages in the website. However, individual pages that aren't indexed or pages' folders that aren't indexed won't show the contact information. Subfolders may be set up with their own navigation structures in folders that are checked to exclude parent navigation.

  • Navigate to your homepage and select the Edit tab.
  • Go to the Contact Info>> Contact callout.
  • Enter the contact information for your unit in this format

  • Additional open fields for names or hours of operation can be selected by clicking on the + next to address.
  • A unit logo can be added below the contact information section and above the social media links. Images should have a transparent background around the logos.
  • Additional contact sections for listing more than one unit, a separate mailing or physical address or additional emails can be made by selecting the + below the Contact Info >> Contact  Heading.
  • Add the URLs for your Facebook, Twitter, Youtube or LinkedIn sites.
  • If your contact information is not displaying, it may be due to the following reasons:
    • The page or folder has been unchecked for indexing (contact information listed on the homepage won’t filter down so contact listings needs to be entered in the left column callout. Use the title "Contact Us".)
    • Content Below has been checked (contact information needs to be entered)
    • The folder has been selected to exclude parent navigation (contact information needs to be entered for the folder's index page)

  • The contact information should look like these examples in preview:

Pages using the 'College / Department Advanced' Template:

Having contact information on your website is important. Having contact information in an easy to find place is even more important. Contact information is important to have displayed on your website for both your department and the rest of the UW community. By having easy to find contact information, you are providing users the opportunity to contact you.

With the new design templates, specifically the ‘College / Department Advanced’ page, the visibility of the ‘contact us’ section is gone, however you will still need to populate it in the Contact Info section of the page if it is used as your homepage so subsequent pages can pick it up.  In addition, it is important for each unit using the ‘Advanced’ template, to include your contact us information at the bottom of each page that uses the “College / Department Advanced’ template in order to enhance user experience on your website. To add contact us on 'Advanced' templates, follow the instructions below in addition to adding contact information to the Contact Info section described above:

  1. Select the green +, plus sign, under the 'module layout>>row' to add additional row
  2. Select a content type. Using '1 Column Row' is suggested
  3. Add in a Large Title: Contact Us
  4. Type contact information in a list format
