Community Education Program

WIND's Community Education Program projects, formerly known as Supported Employment, evolved from the array of supported employment programs offered by the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). Former WIND Supported Employment efforts were focused largely on traditional approaches to supported employment and sought to supplement programs and services offered by DVR.

Over the years it has become apparent there are many "systems" accessed and needed by people with disabilities, which go beyond traditional approaches and which exceed the parameters of DVR. Thus was born the idea of developing employment systems and helping build bridges to link systems together, which are designed to serve people with disabilities.

Community Education Program projects seek to pull together the entire spectrum of services and programs to ensure people with disabilities are indeed included in all aspects of life, as those aspects revolve around employment factors.

Presently, Community Education Program projects include three grants. Using the links above, information about each grant can be accessed. Contact points are provided for each grant on the appropriate web page.
