Head Start/Home Start

Dedicated to enhancing family life, Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program for families with children, ages 3 to 5, who meet income eligibility guidelines. Head Start provides program activities that address a child's cognitive development as well as their physical, emotional and social development. It is designed to develop and nurture a sense of partnership between parents and program staff. Children enrolled in the Center-based Model attend activities on-site every day and are provided breakfast and lunch. The Combination Programs involves teachers conducting regular home visits and children participating in a preschool socialization experience 2 to 3 times a week.

Early Head Start

The Early Head Start program is a 12 month home-based program that provides Head Start services to families with children ages birth to three and pregnant women, who meet income eligibility requirements. The program focuses on building the parent/child relationship and providing support that all members of the family can fully realize their goals. Wrap-around childcare and program options are available in Casper and Torrington.

Developmental Disabilities Program

The Developmental Disabilities Program was established to identify children, ages birth though five, who have mild to severe disabilities and to provide services to these children and their families. Services include: screening , evaluation, planning and individual program development. Special Services are provided by Occupational Therapists , Speech and Language Therapists, Physical Therapists and Special Educators.

The Developmental Disabilities Program is divided into two segments. One segment serves infants and toddlers , birth to three years of age; while the other serves children, ages three though five. Both segments work closely with each other to provide complete and accurate screening, evaluation and program planning.

Both segments of the program utilize the parent(s) as first teacher of the child so that a child's physical, intellectual and emotional development are encouraged.

Discovery Preschool

The Discovery Preschool is devoted to providing a developmentally appropriate learning environment and activities for children. The program focuses on the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development of each child. The Discovery Preschool serves children 3 to 5 years of age. It is the goal of the preschool to provide opportunities for the children to learn through hands-on activities, creative play, literacy, science, and math activities to prepare them for kidergarten.
