MetaECHO conference focused on bringing health care to a billion people by 2025

MetaECHO, a global conference organized by University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes), brought together more than 400 participants involved in the global ECHO movement. Under the ECHO model, developed at the UNM Health Sciences Center, primary care providers in rural and underserved areas can discuss a patient's clinical care with specialists in large medical centers, using teleconferencing technology. Project ECHO is working with more than 200 global partners in at least 12 countries to expand its reach to global rural communities.
