ADA Online, The American Dental Association

The professional association of dentists is dedicated to serving both the public and the dental profession. The site provides a comprehensive set of oral health information and education resources. The Parents and Children Section includes the following: ADA Kids' Corner, Parents' Page, National Children's Dental Health Month, Preventing Baby Bottle Tooth Decay. The Teacher and Students Section lists classroom activities, links to free materials, and offers on-line ordering capability.

American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry

Members of this organization are dedicated to improving and maintaining the oral health of infants, children, adolescents, and persons with special health care needs. In addition to a wide range of information for professionals and the public, the site offers on-line brochures that respond to parents' questions about children's oral health covering 24 different topic areas.

American Dental Hygienists Association

The site includes a feature for children, Kids Stuff, with general information, a game, and a chance to win a toothbrush. Also has an e-mail address to direct questions to a hygienist.

Children�s Dental Health Project

The Children's Dental Health Project (CDHP) is a non-profit organization that promotes policies to improve health and increase access to dental care for children and other vulnerable populations. Serving policy makers, healthcare providers, and advocates, the project focuses on Medicaid and SCHIP dental programs; the dental workforce; improving access to care; and disease prevention and health promotion. Publications include a series of Children's Oral Health Fact Sheets.

National Head Start Oral Health Resource Center

The resource center collects, reviews, and disseminates Head Start oral health technical and programmatic information and materials. The information and materials are intended for health professionals and families. They include: Forum reports at national, regional and state levels; Links to relevant web sites; Materials including pamphlets, videos, curricula, etc.; Partnership Projects; and Regional consultants.

Oral Health America

The fully independent, non-profit, national charity has been working for more than forty years to educate the public, improve access to services, and support research and dental education. Several informative articles and reports designed to raise public awareness about oral health care disparities can be obtained on-line here.
