Wyoming Institute for Disabilities

Deborah Fleming, Ph.D.  



Deborah Fleming is the project coordinator for Think College Wyoming. In this role Deborah works to open access to community colleges for individuals with intellectual disabilities in Wyoming.

Deborah is recognized throughout the state as an expert in the fields of geriatric education and healthcare administration. With over 30 years of experience serving in an administrative capacity at numerous healthcare agencies and as a professor of gerontology, Dr. Fleming understands the complex nature of the healthcare landscape among rural communities in the Rocky Mountain region.

She also established Wyoming Geriatric Education Center at the University of Wyoming, serving as its director and a clinical professor of geriatrics at the College of Health Sciences. Deborah is also the former Director of the Wyoming Department of Health and a former Wyoming legislator.

Deborah received her Ph.D. in Adult Learning and Technology from the University of Wyoming’s College of Education.
