Mary Hixson, B.A.

Mary Hixson serves as project coordinator for the Think College Wyoming program. She comes with over twenty years of experience in special education teaching, case management, and transition for high school students. Currently, Mary also works as special education transition specialist for Albany County School District #1.

Mary is committed to continued development of the Think College Wyoming strategic plan and maintaining relationships with community colleges in this regard. In working with WIND’s partner agencies to develop a permanently funded program in Wyoming, her goal is achieving successful outcomes for students with intellectual disabilities.

Mary earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary and special education from the University of Wyoming and has pursued graduate studies in special education. She was part of the WY Think College Stakeholder group and on the Site Council for Special Services.
