Source: The International Slow Food Movement, a non-profit association headquartered in Italy that formed in 1986 "in response to the effect fast food has on our society and life." The movement's mission includes many goals, including "...to explore, describe, and improve the culture of food..." The movement also promotes "taste education for children," which includes "reviving the ritual of family dining."

Strengths:
1. A unique and thought-provoking site in terms of its questioning of "...the fast food philosophy as an unconscious credo that erodes our culinary heritage in the guise of efficiency."

2. Sections titled "Manifesto," "Principles," and "Philosophy," and the May 1999 item within the "Press release" section provide insight to the movement.

3. Although not reviewed for accuracy, the section titled "food" offers perspectives on a broad range of topics, including international cuisines, regional food, recipes, designer foods, and biotechnology.
