III. THE MALE

The objective of this chapter is to consider the reproductive anatomy, endocrinology, and exocrine function (spermatogenesis) of the male. Male organs include the paired testes - which produce sperm cells, a system of ducts - that store and transport sperm, and accessory glands - which contribute the fluid component of semen. The primal role of the male in mammalian reproduction is to impregnate the female.
