Leslie S. Rush is the Director of the Wyoming School-University Partnership and a professor in the School of Teacher Education at the University of Wyoming. Dr. Rush has received the University of Wyoming's John P. Ellbogen Meritorious Classroom Teaching Award and the Promoting Intellectual Engagement in the First Year Award. Her research interests include disciplinary literacy in English Language Arts and instructional methods for reading and writing instruction in English Language Arts classrooms. Dr. Rush's research on the work of Instructional Facilitators in Wyoming secondary schools was funded by the International Literacy Association's Elva Knight Research Grant. Dr. Rush taught high school English for twelve years in California, Texas, and East Africa. An active member of NCTE and its affiliate organization, the English Language Arts Teacher Educators (ELATE), Dr. Rush was the co-editor of the ELATE journal, English Education from . She served as a member of the ELATE Executive Committee from 2016-2020. Dr. Rush has published in Reading Research and Instruction, Reading Online, The Rural Educator, and the Journal of Literacy Research. In addition, she serves on the editorial review boards for Reading Research Quarterly, Journal of Literacy Research, and The Qualitative Report.
