Take Care of Yourself

College success requires self-care

The way to not only survive but thrive in college is to know how to take care of yourself. There are a lot of resources on campus to help you take care of yourself, and be sure to explore and take advantage of them.


Physical health

  • Stay active, get exercise.
    • Take walks or get outdoors.
    • Utilize campus recreation centers.
    • Join a group activity, like a sport or dancing.
  • Eat healthy.
    • Check out nutrition services at your college.
    • Try MyPlate Checklist calculator to see what portions you should eat based on your gender, age and activity levels.
  • Get enough sleep.
    • We cannot stress this enough. Sleep is vital to success in all areas.

  • Plan times for friends, social activities.
  • Explore and try new opportunities in and out of class.
  • Try joining a club.
