What we can do for you
The Wyoming Technology Business Center (WTBC) is a business development program that focuses on high-growth oriented companies with an emphasis on technology at the University of Wyoming. Established as a not-for-profit, the WTBC was created for the development of a technology-oriented business incubator in a new 30,000 sq. ft. facility on the campus of the University of Wyoming. This key partnership seeks to keep college graduates in the area by creating new high tech opportunities in Wyoming.
The business incubator provides space, access to shared services and business and management advice for early stage, high-growth companies. The business and management advice consists of one-on-one counseling provided by the WTBC staff and the creation of a five-person business advisory committee for each client. This business advisory committee is comprised of successful business leaders from the business community. The committee meets with the client on a quarterly basis. The program is designed to help the clients grow their companies larger and faster than they would otherwise, and to increase the ability of the entrepreneurs to grow and manage their own businesses. Companies that graduate from the WTBC are more likely to establish their businesses in Wyoming, which is vital to the diversification of the state economy. In addition to diversifying and strengthening state and local economies, technology-based businesses lead to the creation of new jobs and the development of new technologies.
The WTBC is a member of the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA), which is the world’s leading organization advancing business incubation and entrepreneurship. Each year, NBIA provides thousands of professionals with information, education, advocacy and networking resources to bring excellence to the process of assisting early-stage companies.
