Jaryd is from Casper, Wyoming. He completed an Associate of Science in Pre-Medicine at Casper College before attending the University of Wyoming, where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology, with minors in International Studies and Chemistry. Following graduation, Jaryd spent two years working as a Physical Therapy Technician, then Casting and Splinting Technician at Casper Orthopaedic Associates. He is pursing the profession of medicine as he states, "because it presents the combination of continued learning and scientific inquiry while utilizing that knowledge to improve human life and ameliorate suffering". Jaryd is currently interested in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine, though he is keeping an open mind as his education and experiences expand. When not studying or sleeping he enjoys hiking, climbing, mountain biking, skiing, and especially mountaineering.
