Healthy U is Wyoming's chronic disease self-management program, available to any person interested in learning personal health care empowerment techniques.

Winter 2021 Geriatric Healthcare Internet Series, with a focus on Alzheimer's and Related Dementia's

Topics include: Rational Preventive Care in the Context of Alzheimer’s disease, Alzheimer's and related Dementia's (ADRD) in the Time of COVID-19, Dementia and Driving, Care Planning in Early Alzheimer’s disease and more!  Series is offered remote over Zoom and continuing Education Credits are available or most disciplines.  Register now! 

Care Coordination Certificate Program for Primary Care Professionals

Maximize your Medicare Revenue! The courses will be delivered in a virtual environment using a combination of pre-recorded didactic presentations, asynchronous discussion threads, and a virtual meeting space for a live discussion at the end of each module.  Learn at your own pace, no cost to participate.  Course include: Annual Wellness Visit, Care Coordination Fundamentals, and Advanced Care Planning.

UW ECHO in Geriatrics

Healthcare professionals throughout the state will have the opportunity to receive best-practice recommendations for consideration in management of older adults by presenting challenging cases for discussion and feedback to a network of colleagues as well as a specialist care team. Each ECHO network will also feature a brief community discussion on a variety of important topics related to person centered care and culture change in long term care. 

Dementia Care Certificate

The dementia care certificate is designed for professional direct care providers of older adults across care settings. The goal of the certificate is to increase providers' knowledge of dementia and to enhance confidence in caring for people with dementia.

 

Caring with Confidence DVD Training Series

Caring with Confidence is a program designed to educate certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and other direct care workers on how to manage challenging behaviors that are often associated with dementia. The program focuses on factors contributing to problem behaviors and non-medical interventions including strategies to handle wandering, agitation, and inappropriate sexual behavior. The training also includes information about caregiver stress and strategies to prevent burnout.
