Occurrence Mapping Request Form
WYNDD's primary mission is to maintain a statewide database of spatial and biological information on rare species and important plant communities, and disseminate these data to interested parties. State funding covers about 25% of the costs associated with this mission. Monies generated through data request fees and outside contracts are used to cover the remaining costs.

The most commonly requested data from WYNDD are records of documented observations, or 'occurrence records', of rare plants and animals in specific project areas within Wyoming. Requests for occurrence records require a written application, either by our Occurrence Mapping Request Form or in a letter/e-mail including the same information. Requests may be made by phone if a written application follows promptly.
Requests filled free-of-charge: Township Scale - spreadsheet format
WYNDD provides location records by
Township (6mi x 6mi survey block) free to all requesters. Also, WYNDD provides
location records at the precise scale free to State of Wyoming agencies
(http://wyoming.gov/government.asp submitted from emails @state.wy.us). WYNDD
applies existing state funding to cover the cost of database maintenance
associated with these requests.
Requests requiring a fee: Precise Scale - shapefile or
spreadsheet format
WYNDD provides location records at the most precise
spatial scale available for a fee to data users outside of state government.
These fees are used to maintain the central WYNDD database, and are scaled to
the size of the request area and the number of taxa involved in the request, as
follows:
Number of Townships x Number of Taxa
Tier
1 - if <6251 fee = $112.50
Tier 2 - if >< 6250-62500 then multiply by
0.030 for fee
Tier 3 - if >62500 then multiply by 0.0495 for fee, up to
$20,000
In all cases, regular costs for printing, photocopying, shipping, and supplies will be charged when >$5.00; overnight and express mail will be charged at face value. If the data request fee is >$75.00, requesters will be contacted with the amount prior to WYNDD filling the request.

WYNDD will not fill data requests for persons/organizations with overdue payments.
