Intrinsic Vulnerability

Intrinsic Vulnerability

Intrinsic Vulnerability addresses plant species of concern traits that confer vulnerability or resilience in its habitat, e.g. reproductive rates and requirements, time to maturity, dormancy requirements, seedbanks, dispersal patterns, and associated responses to disturbance.  Every species has a unique combination of traits.  Vulnerable species can include long-lived species that flower only once, or vernal pool species that have unsuitable hydrological conditions more years than not. In the absence of solid information on threats and trends, the Intrinsic Vulnerability field is a least common denominator and surrogate.

A = High Vulnerability
B = Moderate Vulnerability
C = Low Vulnerability
D = No Vulnerability
U = Unknown Vulnerability
