Safe and Drug Free Schools Governor’s Portion GrantThe Safe and Drug Free Schools Governor’s Portion (SDFS-GP) was part of The 21st Century State Incentive Grant (21 SIG) project a braided funding of four streams into one grant project. This grant was funded from the Wyoming Department of Education. The goal of SDFS-GP was to provide services to populations not normally served by the state educational agency (i.e., school dropouts). WYSAC provided evaluation research at the state, community, and program levels. The SDFS-GP project funded 20 sub-recipient communities starting in 2003. WYSAC trained each sub-recipient community on evaluation, gathered and analyzed process data for each program, and assisted the sub-recipient communities in using evaluation data to improve programming and to plan for sustainability. Program outcomes were measured by collecting process information on the number of children served in high-risk categories and in some cases by pre and post-test surveys of program participants on risk and protective factor constructs targeted by the state and communities. |
