Juvenile Re-entry Case Management SystemOverviewThe Juvenile Re-entry CMS was developed for the Juvenile Services program of the Department of Family Services. The software is implemented as web application. It was developed using the Microsoft ASP.NET framework and provides users with rich and dynamic web environment. The first version of the software was released on October 2, 2006. It features multi-user environment, role-based data access, data entry validation, intuitive site navigation and quick access to data elements, role and user-based messages and alerts, interactive data reporting, and more. One of the key features is the re-offense cases tracking. Every time a new client is added to the system, the software checks if the person has already been added to the database and gives an option to the user to indicate re-offense. The user interface concept consists of a dashboard, client search, client management, reporting, and user and content management modules. The dashboard is the starting point of the application and provides customized view for each role.
The system allows the Juvenile Re-entry programs to safely store and quickly search and retrieve data about clients. There are two interfaces, simple and extended, which can be used to find a client based on name, location, gender, etc. The case management section provides structures that can be used for tracking clients’ progress in areas such as Drug Testing, Medical Exams, Criminal History, Provided Services, Community Services, and more. The reporting mechanism is interactive. It presents all indicators on a single page and allows the user to drill down and get more details on the clients that make up the count and further to get to a client personal record and case data. Finally, the software allows users to manage some aspects of the content, such as Service Providers and Facilities, as well as adding and modifying system users and roles. This feature empowers JR users with more control and allows them to dynamically modify the system.
