Wyoming School Integrated Pest Management

Effective Pest Management and Problem Solving

  • Integrated pest management (IPM) helps schools focus more on prevention than remediation.

  • IPM makes schools less accessible to pests and less habitable to pests that happen to get in.

  • IPM makes schools safer by decreasing pest and pesticide risks for students, teachers, and other people who work in schools.

  • IPM strategies target the pests life cycles and their interaction with the environment.

  • Biological, cultural, physical, mechanical and chemical methods are used in a site-specific combination to solve the pest problem.

  • Over time, the efficiencies in an IPM program can also save schools money.
