“WySCI expertise helped me secure support for a ~$6-million-dollar proposal.”

~UW alum, state agency researcher

The University of Wyoming Science Communication Initiative (WySCI) was launched in 2017 as a grassroots, faculty- and staff-driven initiative to enhance the UW community’s capacity to effectively share science with the state and the world.

WySCI supports, creates, and values three major areas of SciComm/Broader Impacts work: skill building, research and capacity building, and culture shifts to enhance the value and community around this work.

With WySCI, you can:

  • Get consulting support for developing grants, particularly the broader impacts/research impacts in society components

  • Get training to enhance your skills and knowledge

  • Collaborate on/contribute funding or administrative support to research and campus culture initiatives (see about page for current work & year-end impacts report)

  • Get updates about trainings, funding and job opportunities and more.
