2022-Jing received a grant from the NSF Macromolecular,
Supramolecular and Nanochemistry program. The
group is excited to embark the project on Collaborative
Research: Elucidation of the Role of Atomic Structures of CeO2(111)
on the Nucleation and Growth of Metal Clusters through in situ STM and Theory
in collaboration with Prof. Ye Xu of Louisiana State University.
February
2022-Jing received a grant from the NSF Chemistry Catalysis program. The group
is excited to embark the project on Surface
Science Studies of Ni-based Bimetallic Particles Supported on CeO2(111) for Dry Reforming of Methane in
collaboration with Dr. Senanayake at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
February 2022-Congratulations to Daniel. The work on Modular Reaction Control Systems for Live
Monitoring of Long-term and/or Multi-channel Reactions was
followed up with a full patent application filed at the United States
Patent and Trademark Office.
December 2021-Congratulations to the group. The paper
on Infrared Reflection Absorption
Spectroscopy and Temperature-programmed Desorption studies of CO Adsorption on
Ni/CeO2(111) Thin Films: The Role of the
Ceria Support was accepted for Special Collection Commemorating the Career
of Pat Thiel.

July 2020-Jing received the Wyoming NASA Space Grant
Consortium Faculty Grant Award.
June 2020-Congratulations to Linze and Elfrida. Their
paper on Morphology and chemical stats of
Ni supported on Ti-modified CeOx(111)
interfaces was accepted for publication in Surface Science and featured on
the cover page of Volume 699.

August 2016-The group made a trip to the Advanced
Light Source at Berkeley and conducted AP-XPS experiments of ethanol reaction
over Ni supported on Ti-doped CeOx(111).

2016-Jing received a major grant on the study of multi-functional
ceria-supported metal catalysts for dry reforming of methane from Wyoming
Carbon Engineering Initiative in collaboration with Prof. Joseph Holles. The
research is ongoing.
January 2016-The group received the UW Office of
Academic Affairs Energy GA Fellowships for two years (2016-2018).
March 2015-Congratulations to Rachel. She was the
3rd-place winner at the 2015 Wyoming Science State Fair for high school
students.

November 2008-The group received the basic research
grant from the Arts & Science, University of Wyoming.
September 2008-The group poster titled scanning
tunneling microscopy studies of bimetallic gold and platinum nanoparticles on TiO2(110) won the 2nd-place poster presentation at the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the
American Vacuum Society in Westminster.
