Mission Statement of the Department of Zoology and Physiology

Our mission is the pursuit of scholarly excellence in the zoological sciences.  We strive to provide the very best learning environment for students, to promote the acquisition of knowledge through research, and to use scientific knowledge to address issues important to society.  Through close interactions among students and faculty, we aim to develop communication and analytical abilities along with field and laboratory skills relevant to careers in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology and Management, Zoology, Physiology, Biology, Ecology, Neuroscience and Pre-professional Health Care.  Read more.
