Required attendance for all incoming domestic, first-year students
Move-In: August 18
Camp & Required Courses: August 19 – 25
Optional Weekend Programming: August 26 - 27
Fall Semester Start Date: August 28
Saddle Up will allow our first-year, full-time students to arrive early to campus ahead of the fall semester. That's right! You'll get to settle into the residence halls over one week early. Students will arrive on August 18 to check in, move into the halls, and partake in a college preparation camp beginning August 19. Saddle Up is followed by a weekend of optional activities August 26-27 before fall classes begin on August 28.
First-year, full-time students who have received an exemption from living in the UW residence halls will still be required to participate in programming and meals during the full week of Saddle Up. Meals during the week of Saddle Up for these students can be found on our costs page.
Move-In Details
Students living on campus check in at the station corresponding to your residence hall. Both stations are located on King Street.
After Saddle Up check-in, you may begin moving into your room and unpacking. Schedule your move-in time in advance to eliminate parking congestion and time spent waiting in line. Additional details and the link to schedule a move-in time will be added over the summer.
Students living off-campus check in at the Wyoming Union upper level on August 18. After Saddle Up check-in, you'll be ready to get started!
Please Note: actual student schedules may differ.
An example schedule for the week of Saddle Up will be available here in spring 2023. Check back soon for more details!
