The Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid will provide assistance to those veterans planning to utilize their benefits for tuition and fees.  UW proudly participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program for non-resident students who do not qualify for the Choice Act program.

Stop by the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid and see a staff member in our VA area.  You may also contact us by email at:  After you apply for benefits you should get a letter from the VA office in Buffalo telling you about your eligibility.  Once you've registered at UW and signed up for classes, your application will be certified and payment of your benefits will begin.  Usually the payments will be mailed directly to you.

To receive benefits you must have declared a major field of study, and once you begin receiving benefits, you must fill out a VA registration card every semester.  You will also be expected to sign in early each month, to certify your continued class attendance.

  • Provide educational plans for all military and Veteran education beneficiaries.

  • End fraudulent and aggressive recruiting techniques and misrepresentations.

  • Accommodate Service members and Reservists absent due to service requirements.
