Prospective students get answers to all of their pressing questions in one easy place.

At uwyo.edu/admissions, new and prospective students can fill out one easy form to get answers to all of their questions. This central hub means no student or family member has to contact multiple offices trying to find answers. Here, we highlight some of the most common questions, but visit the link above to ask any additional questions you may have!

How do you book a campus visit?
In-person visits are a highlight, but when timing or the pandemic prevents this experience, you can also visit virtually! View all the visit options here!

What is the application deadline?
We have rolling admissions and continue to accept applications through the summer. However, all scholarship decisions are made by May 1, so it’s best to be admitted before then. Apply at uwyo.edu/admissions/apply.html.

Does UW offer an application fee waiver?
Freshmen can request a fee waiver if they are on free or reduced lunch at their high school. Email admissions@uwyo.edu for information.

Can I check the status of my application?
We are always happy to help students check their status. Email admissions@uwyo.edu.

What is the cost of attendance?
UW is one of the most affordable universities in the nation. Go here to view resident, nonresident, children of alumni and graduate student rates, plus use a net price calculator.

Are test scores required to apply for fall 2021?
Test scores are not required for admission for summer or fall 2021. Check the website for future requirements.

Are residence halls required for first-year students?
Students taking more than six credit hours are required to live on campus. There are many reasons to live on campus—from increased student success to convenience and making new friends. Visit Housing and Residence Life to learn all about student housing options.

How do I get Wyoming residency?
If you come to Wyoming to go to college, it is not easy to get residency for that purpose (visit this page).

I’m a transfer student. Will my credits transfer to UW?
You can find transfer information and resources here.

Am I admissible to UW?
There are many roads to UW, including regular admission, admission with support and transferring from another college. Incoming freshmen should visit here, while transfer students should go here to view all of the details.

Can I get the Western Undergraduate Exchange award? Do Colorado students get in-state tuition?
Only Wyoming residents get in-state tuition; however, students in select western states will be considered for the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) award based on an unweighted GPA and ACT/SAT scores (freshman info here, and transfer info here).
