    Francesca K.

    Francesca King is the Director of the UW Writing Center. She gained her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Wyoming in 2019, and has taught First Year Seminar and Step into College, in addition to technical writing, composition, and creative writing classes.


    Rick F.

    Rick F.

    Rick Fisher is currently the director of University of Wyoming Communication across the Curriculum. He completed his Ph.D. in Literacy Studies in 2018, and has taught a variety of academic, technical, and professional writing classes. His scholarly interests include Writing across the Curriculum (WAC), student transitions into and out of the university setting, and the role of genres in disciplinary enculturation.

    Barbara Bogart holds graduate degrees from San Francisco State and UCLA. As a literature and American Studies instructor, she has extensive experience in working with students on developing their ideas and honing their writing skills. She has served as a consultant at the Writing Center since 2014.


    Sylvie M.

    Sylvie M.

    Sylvie identifies as a queer essayist who has worked as an arts, investigative, and opinion writer—primarily for the Michigan Daily. They’ve published creative non-fiction essays and poetry incorporating literary theory, particularly photography theory and theorists from the Frankfurt School. Their current research centers on violence through misrepresentation in 20th/21st century American literature.

    David is from Cheyenne, WY. He completed his undergraduate studies in English and Secondary Education at UW, and he is currently pursuing his M.A. in English (rhetoric and composition). David coaches track and field at Laramie High School and spends most of his free time in the mountains or on the river.

    Banaz is from Columbus, Ohio. She is majoring in Pre-Nursing and minoring in Honors. Banaz enjoys reading, playing soccer, and spending time with animals.

    Makayla is from Monument, Colorado. She is majoring in English and Mathematics, with minors in Anthropology and Honors. After graduating, she hopes to pursue graduate school. Makayla enjoys reading, painting, baking, and spending time in the outdoors with her family, friends, and dogs.

    Virginia is from Potter, Nebraska. She is majoring in English with minors in Drawing and Creative Writing. Virginia hopes to someday pursue a career as an editor. She loves fall, pumpkins, baking, hiking, and curling up with a blanket and a good book.

    Sophie is from Evergreen, Colorado. She is double majoring in International Studies and English. She loves to read, travel, talk about faith, hang out with international students, her friends, and family, as well as drink lots of coffee.

    Gregory is a sophomore at UWYO studying Music and English. He is also minoring in Spanish and honors. Gregory has two dogs and enjoys hiking and being outdoors. He also loves to read fantasy and sci-fi novels.

    Cheyenne is from Cody, Wy and is majoring in secondary English education. After graduation, Cheyenne hopes to pursue graduate school and in the future, she wants to become an English teacher. Cheyenne enjoys photography, reading, crocheting, playing Animal Crossing, and teaching her cats new tricks.

    Amelia Gee is an undergraduate student from Big Horn, Wyoming. She has an associate degree in general studies from Northern Wyoming Community College. She is majoring in Secondary Education and English, with minors in Honors and ESL. Amelia hopes to teach while traveling abroad someday. She loves to read, write, draw, play volleyball, and learn about new people and cultures.

    Thristen is from Gillette, Wyoming. He is majoring in English with a minor in Creative Writing. Thristen enjoys spending time with friends, writing, listening to music and nonsensical adventures.

    Janaye is a Secondary English Education major with a minor in Political Theory at the University of Wyoming. After graduating, she hopes to pursue graduate school and someday become an English teacher. Janaye enjoys reading, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
