Advising Schedule

College of Business Advising Update

The College of Business Advising period will start as early as Oct. 12th in preparation for Spring 2021. For Registration/PERC advising you will need to meet to schedule an advising appointment with your advisor before your registration date. Your COB advisor will be reaching out to you directly via email with their link and a time frame to set up an appointment. Reminder – Schedule your appointment with an advisor at least 24 hours in advance. All appointments will be through zoom. If you do not have the appropriate technology for a Zoom appointment, please contact your advisor directly to make alternative arrangements.

Course Registration/PERC Advising Procedure

Meet with your Advisor

Schedule at least 24 hours in advance

Make sure to check your email! You advisor will be sending an email directly to you with a designated window and steps to schedule your appointment based on your class standing*. To schedule an advising appointment to review your tentative schedule and the assignment of your PERC number please pick an appointment time that fits best with your schedule and does not conflict with class, work, and/or other commitments.

You will be responsible for setting up an advising appointment with your advisor before the start of your registration period. The following are the registration dates for the 2021 Spring Semester:

  • Priority: Starting October 28
  • Seniors: Starting November 2
  • Freshmen: Starting November 9
  • Juniors: Starting November 12
  • Sophomores: Starting November 17

*Please do not schedule an appointment before your assigned time frame, as your appointment will be cancelled.

Meet with a student Advising Assistant (available Monday-Friday from 9-3pm)

Advising Assistants are trained College of Business students who can help with quick questions and help you to prepare for your advising appointment. Some of the things they can help with:

  • Preparation for Course Registration/PERC Advising appointment with your advisor
  • Understanding your Degree Evaluation (and see what is missing!)
  • Work on Plan Aheads/Course Request Form
  • Understanding Check Sheets
  • How to drop, add or withdraw from an individual course
  • Override form (link/completion)
  • Understanding/checking pre-requisites
  • General questions about the advising process

Unlike an advising appointment with your Academic Advisor that you need to set up at least 24 hours in advance, Advising Assistants are available “live” (Zoom and in the COB’s Student Success Center). They will help students on a first come, first served basis.
