WUE Transfer Award

Transfer Students


This information is for the academic year 2021-22.

 

The University of Wyoming will recognize non-resident transfer students as recipients of the Western Undergraduate Exchange award.  Transfer students who have earned an associate’s degree with a 3.4 GPA or higher will pay tuition at 150 percent of the resident tuition, which is approximately $11,565 less than the standard non-resident tuition for students taking 15 credit hours per semester.


All funding for the 2020-21 Academic Year has been allocated.

Note: All UW financial awards are subject to available funding, and are only available for eligible admits.

To be considered for the WUE Transfer Award, the UW Admissions Office must have the following:

  • Application for admission and the non-refundable $40 admission application fee

  • UW Transfer Opportunities application within WyoScholarships, the University of Wyoming’s scholarship system

  • Official college transcripts

  • Proof of associate's degree  (reflected on transcript)

Students selected to receive the WUE Scholarship must confirm their enrollment at UW by August 1, 11:59 p.m. MDT, for students beginning in the fall semester. For students beginning in the spring semester, the deadline to confirm their enrollment is December 1, 11:59 p.m. MDT.


Initial Eligibility and Scholarship Compliance

  • The WUE Transfer Award is only available to first-time, entering non-resident transfer students seeking their first bachelor's degree whom have earned an associate's degree and have a minimum of a 3.4 transfer GPA.

  • This scholarship is renewable for up to 4 semesters (2 academic years) or up to the first bachelor's degree whichever comes first. 

  • Students must maintain full-time continuous enrollment (12 semester hours) during the fall and spring semesters each year but is not available to use during the summer semester.

  • Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative UW GPA (evaluated at the end of each Spring semester).
