UW Transfer Award

The University of Wyoming is proud to offer the UW Transfer Award to incoming students who transfer to the University of Wyoming. The UW Transfer Award goes into effect Fall 2017. It is awarded to incoming resident, non-resident (excluding Nebraska residents), and international transfer students who do not qualify for the WUE rate. Transfer students must have a minimum of a 3.4 GPA and an associate's degree. SAIT students will be awarded if they meet eligibility requirements.

To be considered for the UW Transfer Award, students must:

  • Apply for admission and submit the $40 non-refundable admission application fee
  • Submit official college transcripts
  • Proof of associate's degree
  • Be admitted to UW
  • Confirm enrollment

Students are provisionally awarded the UW Transfer Award by the UW Admissions Office shortly after being admitted. Final awards are determined upon receipt of all final academic records.

Students selected to receive the UW Transfer Award must confirm their enrollment at UW by August 1, 11:59 p.m. MDT, for students beginning in the fall semester. For students beginning in the spring semester, the deadline to confirm their enrollment is December 1, 11:59 p.m. MDT.

Initial Eligibility and Scholarship Compliance

  • The UW Transfer Award is only available to first-time, entering transfer students who have earned an associate's degree and have a minimum of a 3.4 transfer GPA.
  • This scholarship provides support for up to 4 semesters (2 academic years) or up to the first bachelor's degree whichever comes first.
  • Students must maintain full-time continuous enrollment (12 semester hours) during the fall and spring semesters each year but is not available for use during the summer semester.
  • Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative UW GPA (evaluated at the end of each Spring semester).

All UW scholarships are subject to available funding and are only available for eligible admits.
