Welcome Military and Veterans Students

We are excited that you are considering the University of Wyoming and we thank you for your service! Enrolling at the University of Wyoming is easy. Simply follow the steps below and let us help you reach your educational goals. Also, be sure to check out the Veterans Services Center for services and amenities.

 

Effective for Summer Session 2014, qualified military veteran students may be eligible for resident tuition rates. For more information see the Nonresident Veteran Students tuition information page.

Step 1: Explore UW

• Academic Programs - UW offers more than 180 areas of study at the bachelor's, master's and PhD levels.  As the only state with one university, we're prepared to serve students with multiple academic interests.

• About Laramie - Learn more about Laramie, WY, home to the University of Wyoming.

• Support for Veterans - check out the many support services available to veterans.

• Online and Outreach Courses - a great option for current service members or veterans who aren't prepared to move to Laramie.

• Student Clubs and Organizations - UW offers more than 200 clubs and organizations for students with diverse interests.

 

Step 2: Admission To UW

Check out our admission requirements and application processes. How will you be attending UW?

• As a first-year student (no college courses taken)

• As a transfer student

• As a graduate student

Students who have served in the Armed Forces may be allowed to transfer credit for courses taken in some military schools. Learn more about credit for military service courses.

 

Step 3: Cover Your Costs

Veterans Benefits - learn more about the various chapters of VA benefits, access related applications and learn more about other veterans' educational benefits.

Financial Aid - visit the UW Student Financial Aid website for information about federal financial aid and services available at UW, including links to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

Scholarships - UW offers general and competitive scholarships for new students. Deadlines apply.

Cost of Attendance - View current tuition, fees, and other expected costs of attendance.

Returning to the University of Wyoming after Deployment

Undergraduate Students

• If less than one year has passed:

  • Schedule an advising appointment and register through WyoWeb.

• If more than one year has passed:

  • Reactivate and update your student information by logging into the portal.

    • This initial step is tied to the email used to apply to UW. If your email needs reset, please connect with admission by calling (307) 766-5160 or emailing us at admissions@uwyo.edu.

  • Once your student account has been reactivated, schedule an advising appointment and register through WyoWeb.
