Collections About Women

Celebrating 150 Years of Women's Suffrage

Wyoming gave full voting rights to women in 1869, fifty years before the National Woman’s Suffrage Act allowed women in all states to vote. The American Heritage Center collects and preserves historical materials by and about women, honoring this legacy. The Center’s collections profile women’s activities in business, journalism, culture, education, and other pursuits, as well as documenting women as voters and legislators.
