The Advanced Research Computing Center (ARCC) is the primary research computing facility for the University of Wyoming. We provides centralized scientific computing resources, including HPC and research storage, and we serve as a gateway to other research institutions within Wyoming and across the nation.
Dr. Mainzer stepped into the role of Director in 2022, bringing experience in biological computing, Industry partnership, academic research and software management. Liudmila is focused on growing the Research Computing at the University of Wyoming via student internships, faculty research collaborations, contracts with private companies, and relationships with federal and state funding agencies. Her prior focus was on software development in the areas of biomedical computing for high performance, high throughput production environments, where robustness and efficiency of operation are paramount. In her free time, Liudmila enjoys practicing needlework of various kinds: sewing, embroidery, fencing, witty verbal exchanges - whatever is handy.
Mike, originally from Peoria, Illinois, started working at UWyo in 2005 and then joined ARCC in 2012. He enjoys working in the areas of systems administration, architecture, and design. Mike is currently serving as ARCC’s Head of Cyberinfrastructure and is responsible for the design and implementation of advanced technical services. His role involves a lot of work behind-the-scenes both in technical and team leadership contexts. When he isn't at work, Mike enjoys writing, fishing, mountain biking, riding unsafe electronic devices, and spending time with his family.
