Transfer Students

UW Army ROTC offers transfer students a chance to join the Cowboy Battalion as a lateral entry Cadet.  You can join UW Army ROTC as late as spring semester of your junior year or even at the beginning of a graduate degree program.  You will be added to a Cadet class based on your academic alignment.  Below are the requirements to join ROTC as a lateral entry Cadet.

• Have at least a 3.2 Community College cumulative GPA
• Be medically cleared for military service
• Be in compliance with the Army’s height/weight requirements
• Pass an Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT)
• Be able to commission as a Second Lieutenant prior to age 32
• Be willing to attend Basic or Advanced Camp training the summer following their first year in the program. (Prior service applicants are not required to attend Basic Camp)
