The exhibition will focus on the 150 Polaroid and Gelatin Silver prints given to the University of Wyoming Art Museum by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
Selected photographs will be placed with borrowed silkscreen works to explore how these well-known images were created from Warhols use of both the formal yet instantaneous Polaroid portraits and the more informal Gelatin Silver images. The combination of all three image-making processes will examine how Warhol raised both the celebrity and unknown persons to an equal iconic status by treating and studying each subject similarly.
