Allies to Accomplices

Allies to Accomplices: Understanding the Pursuit of Access in Higher Education (Spring 2023 FLC) | This learning community is a collaboration between Disability Support Services (DSS) and the Ellbogen Center for Teaching & Learning (ECTL) and is geared toward faculty (tenure-track and non-tenure-track). It is designed to build a community of educators desiring, or already committed, to supporting students with disabilities in the classroom.  We will use the text Demystifying Disability: What to Know, What to Say, and How to be an Ally (Ladau, 2021), to generate conversations about the ways we can create processes, policies, and interpersonal experiences to support the success of students with disabilities.

In this learning community, you will gain information directly from students, ideas from community, and from text to re-imagine and build pedagogical practices that support students with disabilities to improve access and student outcomes.

Participants will receive a complimentary copy of the book which will be handed out at the first session. Lunch is also provided.

For planning purposes, registration is appreciated by Monday, February 20.
